So what have we learnt about Transmedia Storytelling this semester? Some key insights are:
- There's no point reaching out to a community after something bad has happened, build your communities first
- Everyone in the organisation needs to understand what the story is for it to be effective - transmedia storytelling is for internal and external audiences
- Your audiences and stakeholders can help define, or build, your story - participation is key
- Many situations on social media platforms are unique and need to be looked at case-by-case
- Monitoring is key, and there will be a period (for some situations) where you need to watch before you act – just don’t wait too long!
